Now you can connect your past with your present! Using 100 DNA markers to determine the origins of your ancestors, this test first identifies the geographic areas that contributed to your DNA, giving you a picture of where you came from. After determining your genetic makeup based on your past, the test looks at STR (Short Tandem Repeat) markers, also known as the 13 CODIS loci, to compare your DNA to populations in today’s world  and identify the people with whom your DNA has the most in common.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Enough Info. I thought the results would be more specific. The kit advertised on T.V. told what % Native American. This kit only told the continent and country.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a lotta croc So I am 30% Australian and 15% South African? I thought that my Mother's father was an orphaned Romanian and my Fathers Parents were German and Polish? Now I know 45% of my heritage is from below the Equator or in the Southern Hemisphere.I should know more about the Crocodiles. Maybe that's why I have such a desire to visit Antarctica more than the Arctic?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Much less than I expected The results leaved a lot to be desired. Too general and info I could have figured it out without the DNA analysis. They showed an allele bar graph with no explanation of these results. Should have used one of the other Ancestry analysis companies. Just inadequate results and lack of explanations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from From the start only Keep top of mind until results are in the paper products contained in the box to keep results reference for our records was not able to find one ink pen that I was able to fill in the data. The paper contained needs to have the ability to make notes as they are designed. All ink would make one letter and the paper had some type of protectant that worked against the ability to make notes. Paid 24.99 at Walgreens and another $99.00 to this home DNA test.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good experience! I received the starter kit as a Christmas gift and decided to just get the starter $39 one. I got my results back in a month, I was excited to know what my background was and to test with the swabs was very easy to use. I will end up going for the more detailed test eventually as I would like to know more detailed about what they can tell me through my DNA. I would recommend this product to someone who wants to know more about there back ground.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK Even though I believe that there is a certain level of accuracy to your testing I am not completely satisfied with the results. It stated that I am 99% European and 1% East Asian. I believe that I am over 90% European, but I have Native American relatives and Ancestry. Three of my grandparents were part Native American and two I know of for sure. I realize that part of the reason is that Native Americans are closely related to East Asian, but there was other information here that also is puzzling. They also stated that my DNA is most closely related to current people in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Qatar, Australian British & Aborigines, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines and Vietnam. This is probably because of having Native American Ancestry mixed with your European. I do not believe that I have a drop of Oriental blood. I realize that scientists usually state that Native Americans are in the mongoloid race, but their hair is really the only feature that is similar. They most closely resemble Middle-Eastern, Latin or Italian in facial features and body type and in Westerns the producers often used Italians to play their roles. I do not see how that my European DNA could closely be related to people in the Middle Eat or South Asia, but I am an Anglo-American of English, German, French, Scottish & Irish descent and have a little Native American Ancestry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from odds of this DNA % is impossable bought this for a friend. you said he is 95% austrean, his famly has been in the U.S. a melting pot for genarations. there is no way he could be 95% anything, even if he lived in austrea. then you said he is 4% austrailan, there are no austrailians, thay came from europe except the abarigines. and then he,s 1% kenyon? this guy is so white you can almost see threw his skin. you can tell by looking at him he is iresh&scandenavion. red hair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Results questionable Not satisfied with the results. They took way too long to get back. So when I did receive noticafication of results i was disappointed with them. The test was for my daughter to find out just how much native American blood runs though her. Knowing that her great grandmother which still lives in Michigan & proud of her native American heritage. Yeah disappointed. I probably should of read the reviews before purchasing product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Money Wasted Even with the starter kit, I expected a lot finer description of our geneology, like a % breakdown within the the six countries in the four major groups. Clicked on every link in the report, to no avail. We already knew that we were mostly European and where our ancesters came from, back several generations. There were a few hits but a lot of big big misses. On my wife's, throwing darts at a map would have been better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable information about your ancestry After a lot of confusion about registration and finally identifying my application all went very well.I received the samples which I returned as indicated. The instructions were clear and helpful.Three weeks later I received the results. I am pleased that the company is honest and doesn't refer to religion but stick to genetics.mMost interesting discovery of what one is and where one is coming from
Date published: 2018-03-20
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I thought I really should have read the reviews before purchasing. I thought I would get a little more of a detailed result. Only four types/regions is not enough especially when I got 100% European. Extremely disappointed. Wasted $40.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Making Mom happy I bought this kit at the request of my elderly mother. I'm going to take the results to her next time I see her. She thought she was just of European lineage, but I think she will be surprised at the number of additional people groups noted. I wish that there was only one kit that told you all of the information, because I still have questions, but I don't want to buy an additional kit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Impressed I bought this test for my son for Christmas and I was not impressed. It did not tell us anything we didn't already know or what percentage he was of different ethnicities. I would not recommend it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this test hoping to find out what Genealogy I might have gotten from my biological Father. The results were too vague. Not enough detail at all. I'm very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs a Simpler Explanation I was excited when I got my results but also a little confused. The percentages were okay, but I'm not sure if the countries highlighted are supposed to be the most likely place where my ancestors came from. Also the symbols listed pertaining to what DNA your mother and father contributed had me scratching my head. I'm not a geneticist. Just put the stuff in layman's terms.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ancestry Starter Kit I was very satisfied with this product. The price was reasonable, and my results arrived fairly quickly. I had a lot of fun reading my results, which were not what I expected! The manual explains everything very well. I also wish to say that I received excellent customer service the two times I called. The employees were very courteous, and answered all questions I had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting info I bought this test a month ago and when I sent it in I found out that what I thought we were part of did not show up. But I did find out that one of part was right on and the other part has me confused. It was worth getting it. Now I am wondering if there is a way to go deeper than just finding out what I am. Can I find out more information from the same test?
